Why Good Teams Get Stuck

Most people do not struggle at work because they are unwilling to do the work. More often, they are trying hard inside a system that is unclear.

That is where a RACI matrix can help.

A RACI matrix is not flashy. It is not the kind of tool people usually get excited about. But it can make a big difference because it helps a team answer a few very necessary questions that our human brains are wired to crave around the theme of clarity:

  • Who is doing the work?

  • Who is making the final call?

  • Who needs to give input?

  • Who just needs to stay informed?

When those answers are not clear, people get frustrated. Work slows down. Feelings get hurt. Good people start carrying stress that does not belong to them.

Clarity may seem small, but it is actually a form of care.
